Legislative Update:
Though several relevant bills stalled in committee, the Climate Solutions Now Act of 2022 and the Grant Program to Reduce and Compost School Waste were signed into law by the Governor this year. A few that didn’t make it included paint stewardship, labeling and recycled content legislation.

The EPR Bill, which we did not support (read our statement), likewise stalled in committee. However, we are still committed to working with the sponsors to continually improve upon the contents of the bill.

Note: We are convening a panel to explore differing perspectives on how EPR might affect our environment and your recycling operations at the MRN/SWANA Mid-Atlantic Annual Conference on June 23. Be sure to attend!
