Member Feature: Maria Myers, Recycling Manager at Carroll County MD DPW
November 18 @ 11:30 am - 12:30 pm EST
Image: Carroll County Board of Commissioners recognized Maria Myers, recycling manager, and Dwight Amoss, landfill manager, for their efforts to reduce the county’s recycling contamination from 25% to 10% in a matter of months. (Carroll County Government)
When asked what accomplishment she is most proud of in her position as recycling manager for Carroll County, MD, Maria Myers says increasing the recycling participation in the County while reducing the contamination rate from 26% to 10% is number one. Not bad for a predominately rural community with a dash of suburban sprawl.
On November 18, join us for a FREE webinar when we talk with Maria on how she has moved the County forward through a variety of programs and incentives such as bin grant program, expanded drop-off centers, household hazardous waste and shredding programs, as well as community outreach programs. Maria will also talk about the challenges the recycling program has faced due to the pandemic and how the County has handled these challenges.
And it’s a great opportunity for you to ask questions, learn something new and share ideas!
*A free webinar brought to you by the Maryland Recycling Network.
