On November 18, we sat down virtually with MRN member Maria Myers, Recycling Manager at Carroll County Maryland Department of Public Works to talk about the County’s recycling program including the ups (increasing the recycling participation in the County while reducing the contamination rate from 26% to 10%) and the downs (the effect of the pandemic on services). Maria also shared how she came to be in the recycling industry along with the many programs she has established over the years in Carroll County and what’s on the horizon for this predominantly rural community.
