Scott Nash started MOM’s at the age of 22 with an initial investment of $100 as a home delivery business out of his mom’s garage. On July 2nd 1987, MOM’s made its first sale delivering to a customer who lived in Rockville, MD. After 3 decades, MOM’s now has stores in four states and DC, employs 1,000+ people, and has created a culture centered on Our Purpose: To protect and restore the environment. From holiday lights to denim, Mom’s Recycle Center acts on that mission every day.
In this webinar, Ali DySard, Mom’s Environmental & Partnership Manager shares the journey Mom’s has taken to become a recycling powerhouse in the Mid-Atlantic, setting a high bar for all area retailers. Prior to joining Mom’s, Ali served as the City of Bellevue’s Environmental Programs Coordinator and Assistant Park Ranger from 2009 to 2013. Prior to that she worked as a Group Science Educator at the Pacific Science Center in Seattle, Washington. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies from the University of Washington.
